Iskraemeco and Arewal, a grid-operator servicing the area in the south-east of Brussels, Belgium, have joined forces to transform Arewals’s electricity network with a complete flexible smart metering solution that manages big data and incorporates new Energy IoT technologies.

Egypt’s regulatory environment has recently been ripe for the implementation of smart metering. Energy companies in Egypt are primarily focusing on system modernization, process digitization, and cutting costs on operations.

Dutch utilities were among the early adopters of smart meters. Smaller scale roll-outs based on DSMR (Dutch Smart Meter Requirements) specifications began in 2012. With four utilities leading the smart meter revolution, 70% of the country’s existing infrastructure will be smart by end of 2020.
