Iskraemeco`s MT880 reliable and highly efficient in toughest conditions
March 28, 2017

After rigorous testing procedures, implemented by the renowned Spanish testing entity, Tecnalia, Iskraemeco`s MT880 receives a certificate of conformance. Testing of the meter, stricly fitted to specifications set by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) was concluded beginning of January. The country-wide implementation of the MT880 from Iskraemeco`s ICG portfolio began in February.

The MT880, used in industrial and commercial applications is part of a nation-wide project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meter that was specifically fitted to SEC requirements was sent to an independent testing facility prior to roll-out. Tecnalia, the renowned Spanish laboratory and a cutting edge independent energy testing centre implemented functional testing and a series of tests on the meter`s measuring part.

Due to the countries` topology, characterised by extreme temperature and humidity levels it is very important to SEC that the meters provide impeccable performance in harsh conditions. In order to assure that, the MT880 was subjected to Accelerated reliability testing in Tecnalia`s laboratories. This procedure includes testing of a product by subjecting it to conditions in excess of its normal service parameters in a short amount of time. For SEC to move forward with the smart grid transition, robustness and efficiency are among its top priorities.
