Smart prepayment components
HARDWARE

Customer interface unit (CIU)
Communicates with metering unit by MBUS, RF or PLC for energy consumption and credit balance monitoring, credit limitation alarming, and credit charging.
Prepaid Meters
Single or 3-phase devices measure consumption per residence.
Data Concentrator Unit (DCU)
Collects data from a group of meters usually through G3-PLC communication.
Network
Connects the DCUs with the Data Center / Webclient (or POS) usually though either GPRS or Ethernet communication.

SOFTWARE

Web Client
A workstation registered in the system that can charge customers, display reports, communicate with the meter, etc.
